Some songs feel like they just fall out of the air. You don't know where they come from they just do. I've never been hooked on anything personally, especially cocaine, but I've seen the effects of addiction in people I know and love, and the uncontrollable grip it can have on a person. This song started with the first two lines and basically wrote itself after. When I wrote it, it was more of an acoustic folk tune, with a good finger picking feel on the guitar, but after I started working with the band it transformed into something totally different with me screaming and bending a few guitar strings at the end. It's slowly turned into one of my favorite tracks on the album, and ultimately the introduction.
